Threave won the right to play Dalbeattie Star next wednesday in th 2nd round of the Cree Lodge Cup after a narrow but well desreved victory over a plucky Abbey Vale.

In a goalless first half Parker brought off a great save form B.J.Fairhurst and shortly after Abbey lost Maxwell who had to go off with pulled hamstring.

Just on half time Phil Middlemass nearly opened his account but keeper Wells brought off one of his many great saves.

Danny Dunglinson scored for Threave on 46 mins when he hit home from distance after a Milligan challenge on the keeper.

Vinnie Parker again came to Threave's rescue after a mistake by Warren. Donley then Cooke and Grant Middlemass came on for Milligan.

struthers was hauled down in the penalty box on 78 mins and Scott Wilby slotted home from the spot to make the game safe for the Rovers.

A good result for Threave with everyone giving 100% effort.
